I AM DYSLEXIC

Animated Student Short Film

"A young dyslexic child falls into a world made entirely out of books.

Alone in the environment, he is forced to climb a mountain representing the education system."

I AM DYSLEXIC is a multi-award winning 2D/CG hybrid animated short film, directed by Mads Johan Øgaard and Katie Noel Wyman.

The film expresses what it feels like to have a learning difference in our current school system. Those with learning differences should be proud of who they are and should never be made to feel alone. The film uses strong metaphors to portray these emotions, as we follow a little boy called Johan who climbs a mountain in a world made of books.

It combines 2D digital animation with 3D CG environments, to depict the world of books.

The project was pitched by Mads in October 2015, and was successfully chosen as one of the films produced by the Animation & Visual Effects (BA Hons) class of 2016 at Falmouth University. The film was completed in August 2016, and publicly released on the 11th of December 2017.
